Charlotte Bovy is an artist whose work explores the subtleties of memory and perception.

By superimposing her photographs she creates a new reality. The rules of space and time are abolished, much like in dreams. Her approach particularly examines how we view a place, how it is inscribed in our memory, and how memories overlay and blend with present reality.

In her series on Menorca, Charlotte Bovy chose to capture the island’s exceptional architectural sites, combining nature and culture. Each collage is an encounter between the island’s history and both individual and collective memory—a process of layering perspectives and temporalities that allows us to see these places in a new light, both real and imagined.

The memory of a place is multifaceted and ever-evolving, with every perspective bringing its own unique vision of the world.
