Charlotte Bovy was born in Paris in 1984. After studying theatre in New York and completing a Master's in Comparative Literature, she turned to photography.

Her work is concerned with the ways images shape our memories, our desires, and our relationships with others. What they reveal, what they transform, but also what they fail to preserve.
Through simple protocols, she seeks less to document reality than to observe what happens to it once it becomes an image.

Her photographs have been shown in several festivals — including Planches Contact, PhotoSaintGermain and Les Mesnographies (Réseau LUX) — as well as in solo and group exhibitions in Paris, London and Menorca. Her works are held in private and public collections, including that of the Les Franciscaines museum in Deauville. In 2024, she published her first artist book, Solastalgia, with Aivazian Editions.
